This is a great book for anyone in the Southeast that is looking for tried and true regional favorites and how to grow them. It has been especially helpful to me after moving from Northern California to the Atlanta area. Changing garden zones after many years of gardening has been disconcerting at best but this book has helped me get back on my gardening feet again.
I highly recommend Tara Dillard's other books about garden design. You will never see your garden in the same old way after reading her design books. She offers some insights into design that have made my garden much more cohesive and interesting. This year I visited 2 gardens that she designed on a garden tour and wow they are beautiful!
