I bought this book because it has a section on "Growing Succulents in Colder Climates". I was disappointed that it wasn't more helpful in that regard but as a whole I feel the book is excellent in giving me ideas of what I can do to display plants to really show them off. The author, Debra Lee Baldwin, does a great job of covering many different ways to create beautiful displays both large and small. I got lots of kewl ideas, although some of them are a bit time consuming and labor intensive. Couple of examples in that department is making wreaths and balls with succulents. She walks you thru the steps to do it along with suggestions for types of plants and how to care for them after the wreath or ball is finished.
Photos are GREAT. Will make you drool and I've already decided on some of them that I HAVE to have. One amazing pict that I'd like to duplicate is a dish type planter with echeverias and sempervivums. She uses blue and green glass beads as a topping...makes it look like water lilies in a pond. You can browse the book and I've tried going to the page with dish planting. Hope it works:

I agree, this is one of the nicest books on succulents to look through- fantastic photographs and well put together. An encore should be out in 2009- can hardly wait!
