"I am a 27 year old RN. I love nature. I am fairly new to the gardening world. I live in a condo, so I am limited to what I can grow, but I do have a pretty big collection of plants in pots. They are packed in everywhere - my neighbors probably think I am crazy. Fortunately my boyfriends mom loves gardening too, and she lets me live vicariously through her by allowing me to plant whatever I want in her garden!
My favorite plants are tropical plants - especially plumeria, brugmansia, and orchids. I also like cacti/succulents and ferns. And most of all, I love exotic and unusual plants.
I also love birdwatching. This is a fairly new hobby and it is amazing to see all the birds around that I never noticed before!
I have a cat and a wiener dog. I had two zebra finches but my cat got to them, God rest their poor souls.
Hurricane Ike came and went, did a real number on a lot of people's homes and gardens. I have been finding lots of dead birds too, which sucks. My place is on the lake, but it is on risers so when the water rose it only flooded our bottom level (the garage). I can only thank God that I fared so well, especially after seeing so many people around me lose everything. I am sad about the loss of some of my plants, but they are just plants and can be replaced. "
