This butterfly is resident in south Texas and known as strymon istapa.

I was out at the ranch in early October walking around the back field and saw at least a thousand of these nectaring on the native waltheria. Every plant was covered with gobs of them!!!

Went back to the ranch in the middle of November and saw only about fifty.
