definitely not strawberry, possibly blackberry.

None of those; a tree seedling of some sort. Looks vaguely Fraxinus-like, but not certain it is that.

I agree with Kathleen. After serious web searching it appears to be Rubus aethiopicus

Deb I dont thjink this is Rubus. It seems to have opposite leaves. I agree with Resin: a tree seedling of some sort, but I would suggest Bignoniacae maybe Spathodea??

I'm sorry, I was wrong! Thanks Alistair for your hint - it is Tabebuia donnell-smithii,
definitely Bignoniacae. I just saw a mature plant ~15 ft high. I wish I could make it a bonsai, any info in this regard from forum members? Thanks.
